OUR PHILOSOPHY

We BELIEVE all children are their own persons who learn through PLAY at their own pace.

We GUIDE and NURTURE by immersing them in the abundance of BEAUTY that is God's CREATION.

We show our GRATITUDE by protecting his creation because we LOVE what GOD loves.

All of this by fostering WONDER throughout childhood.

DEIDRA CARTER

Executive Director and Forest Family Leader

I have led and organized NCC and Wonder Wednesdays for the past 2 years. I have a deep connection to nature that I share with my 3 boys. I am a naturalist and nurse practitioner, with a dash of agricultural background by education. I am deeply passionate about meeting children where they are developmentally and know that when this occurs children are successful. Our own homeschool is eclectic with Montessori/Waldorf/Charlotte Mason elements and unschooling when it is needed.

MORGAN KAYLOR

Forest Preschool Educator

Finding her calling and passion at a very young age, Morgan Kaylor has been working with and teaching children for 17 years. She started at a Montessori foundational gymnastics gym and later got her Early Childhood Education degree at Athens State University in Athens, Alabama. After traveling she landed in Hawaii and taught at different gyms and subbed at many different schools including the Waldorf of Haleakala. She took a job as a preschool teacher at a Village/Farm school, Malama Montessori. Her passion is coming alongside children during their learning experience and helping them think outside the box while teaching a love for God’s creation. Using her professional education, training, and experience, Morgan attunes her attention individually to each child, moment to moment, with fun encouragement and activities that help blossom a child’s very own abilities and strengths. She believes music enriches the learning experience and brings her musical talents to the classroom. She allows much time for exploration and free play while still providing a structure for a sense of safety for all types of children. Come sing, dance, move, explore, hike and learn with a lover of God and His creation and a follower of Jesus Christ at Nature’s Child Collective.

OUR LOGO

Our beautiful logo shows children being led by a dove, the symbol of the Holy Spirit, through rolling foothills of Appalachia toward the sun light. The tree is shown with the root system and is representative of the family's strength and stability. Our logo was created in collaboration with local graphic designer Devon Dial of Madison, Alabama.
